   HPOWAS MATCH RESULTS 2025/26

Club Match 17 at Grove Marina 25/1/26

Our first match of 2026 was held on the GUC at Grove Marina on the 25th January.  Five members fished and all caught.  Gary Wood  triumphed on the day with a mixed bag for 9-1-0.  See the picture below to see his catch.  Neil Smith was 2nd with 7-7-0 with Pete Finch 3rd with 3-10-0.  Full details can be found by clicking on the link above.

Club Match 18 at Willinghurst (Johns Lake) 15/2/26

Gary Wood with with his mixed bag winning weight of 9-1-0.

Our latest match was held at Willinghurst (Johns Lake) and was a struggle from the start which was very disappointing from a normally prolific venue.  Seven anglers fished including 2 guests and only 4 weighed in.  The match ws won by one of our guests who had 26 lbs. Our other guest and 2 of our members blanked.  As far as our members were concerned Gary Wood won with 4-8-0, Trevor Rowe was 2nd with 4-0-0 and John Tearle was 3rd with 3-2-0.  The full Results can be seen by clicking on the above tab

TROPHY NEWS

TROPHY NEWS AFTER MATCH 18   -   Willinghurst (Johns Lake) 15/2/26

As a result of the Willinghurst (Johns) match Gary Wood lead is now 13 Pts over Trevor Rowe with Tim Watts and Pete Finch now 22.5 Pts behind Trevor.   With 3 matches remaining the Championship has almost over with Gary's lead almost insurmountable and the 'coup de grace' will no doubt be done at Court Farm on our next mach at Court Farm.

Our Grove Marina match was our last match of the Canal Match season and as a result of his triumph Gary Wood is this years Canal Cup winner 4 points clear of Trevor Rowe with Tim Watts 3rd and Chris Peel 4th

After the latest Littlestoke match the River Cup Tim Watts has seen his lead trimmed to 2.5 Pts ahead of Chris Peel who is now 5 pts clear of Trevor Rowe in 3rd place.  With only 1 match remaining at Littlestoke and with 6 out of 7 matches to count the winner will come from one of these three with Neil Smith being the only other person in with a chance but would have to rely on the top 3 having the proverbial mare!!

After the Willinghurst (Johns Lake) debacle the Stillwater Cup has a new leader with Jeff Hobbs  blanking Gary Wood is now in front 4 points clear of Jeff with Pete Finch 8 points further back. With 1 Stillwater match remaining  at Court Farm, Gary Wooden count back  needs to finish 4 places  above Jeff to win.
